Old Grand-Dad Bonded 100 Proof Bourbon

Harkening from the just south of Louisville, KY, the Old Grand Distillery of Claremont (as listed on the label) is one of many brands of the Jim Beam family of distillation products. It is, in my opinion, one of the most aptly-named bourbons. It's not gimmicky, superfluous, or layered with irony. It's just kind of what I would expect my grandfather to enjoy after a hard day of farming. It's also one of those bourbons that you should be able to find fairly easily at your local liquor store for around $20. I picked up my bottle at a Meijer. From the "Bonded" categorization prominently displayed on the bottle, we know this was a product of a single season's grain, and was aged for at least 4 years in a U.S. government supervised warehouse. For my money, this is one of the hardest working bourbons out there. It's good neat, on ice, or in your favorite cocktail.
